We are thrilled to announce that Touch of Love Young Achievers’ Club (TOL YAC) has been named a finalist for the prestigious YouthLink Scotland's 2024 Equality & Diversity Awards . T his nomination recognizes our dedicated efforts to support over 450 young individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds, helping them overcome isolation and embrace their cultural identities.

Empowering Youth through Cultural Engagement and Support
At TOL YAC, our weekly gatherings provide a crucial support network, addres sing key challenges such as disrupted education and mental health issues. These meetings are more than just social events; they are lifelines that empower participants to navigate societal barriers and promote equality.

At TOL YAC, our weekly gatherings provide a crucial support network, addres sing key challenges such as disrupted education and mental health issues. These meetings are more than just social events; they are lifelines that empower participants to navigate societal barriers and promote equality

Our holiday clubs have been particul arly impactful, engaging over 300 children in activities that extend beyond the classroom. These clubs not only offer educational and fun experiences but also provide free meals, ensuring that support continues even when school is out. Additionally, our un ique programs, including African dance classes and talent shows, have significantly enhanced unity and self - esteem among our young members

A Platform for Growth and Community Cohesion
The Youth Conference, another cornerstone of our initiative, imparts pr actical life skills and positive living strategies to 97 young people, reaffirming our commitment to their personal growth and well - being. This conference, along with our other activities, has helped boost the confidence and social skills of 95% of our participants, setting a new standard for inclusivity and mutual respect

Our participation in events like the Aberdeen Mela and visits to places like STV News have further broadened our members' horizons, fostering a sense of pride and a deeper connection to their heritage. These experiences have not only enriched the lives of our young people but have also left a lasting impact on the community, opening new pathways for engagement and success.

As finalists in the Equality & Diversity Awards, w e are more motivated than ever to continue our work, ensuring that every young person at Touch of Love feels valued, understood, and supported. We look forward to the ceremony and hope to bring home an award that reflects our commitment to making a differe nce.
